What is Central Reservations?

Gateway Reservations has provided Central Reservations (CenRes) services since 1986, making us the premier vacation experts in Southwestern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. Since our modest beginnings in the Church Ski Group business, we have grown to provide both Group and Independent Traveler (FIT) reservations in more than 5 different popular destinations including Durango, Telluride, Pagosa Springs, Glenwood Springs, Silverton and more!

Central Reservations works with tourism "suppliers" (i.e. lodging, activity and transportation providers) to create a single place where guests can find and compare all of their vacation destination options. In CenRes, guests compare rates, amenities and availability to find the options that are right for their trip and then put all of those options together on a single travel itinerary to complete all of their reservations in one simple place. Unlike the other large travel wholesalers such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc., we concentrate only on incoming visitors within a small region so that we can remain as local travel experts for our destinations. We live and work in the Southwest and we visit our hotels and activities so our guests never reach someone in India that has never skied in the Southwest or never been to Mesa Verde National Park...

How does it work?

1. Suppliers allocate inventory to our system through our easy online system.
2. Customers search for availability and receive results based on what has been allocated by suppliers.
3. Once they select their first option, agents or the online system help them find additional itinerary items that are of interest to them.
4. Once they have selected their options, we complete the reservation and take payment. Once payment is complete, the customer and all suppliers on the itinerary receive an instant email and/or fax notification.
5. All suppliers are sent a check prior to the guests arrival and provide the guest the best experience possible to win them back for years to co me...

What we do:

• Provide an online booking engine and a call center service - staffed with professional and local Colorado travel experts. Our agents provide potential visitors with information, planning, and booking services - all with real-time rates and availability provided by you, the suppliers.
• We up-sell and cross-sell various vacation options - CenRes provides the customer with multiple options, great discounts and a single call (or click) to plan and book their entire vacation. Options include lodging, activity, ground and air transportation options and more. We make packaging easy for the customer and supplier which allows us to offer a unique and inclusive vacation experience.
• Real-time comparisons and booking availability - CenRes delivers a new customer to your door by educating potential visitors about your property or activity that may not have known about you otherwise. CenRes also commits guests to the tourism destination during their planning stages, increases visitor’s length of stay and increases the average spending per stay.

What we do for suppliers:

• Incremental Business Growth - we have hundreds of thousands of unique visitors to our website's annually. When you work with CenRes, we have the opportunity to offer your product to our unique visitor, providing you with incremental growth and new customers. Your faithful repeat customer’s call you direct and we simply supplement your existing marketing efforts to bring a new customer to your door which, in turn, gives you an opportunity to convert them into another loyal repeat customer.
• Provide you with instant reservation notifications - for every reservation we make through the call center or website, we will send you an instant email and/or fax along with all of the customer information and reservation details.
• Provide you with complete control over your listing - all policies, deposits, pictures and descriptions are set up by you and we communicate them to the customer. Through a secure online log in, you maintain complete control over your listing from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. You are the expert at what you do; you tell us how to sell your product and we will facilitate that sale via our Call Center and Online sales channels.
• Call Center Sales Channel: we have the ability to package options for customers, up and cross-sell their itinerary, and create an inclusive vacation experience based on their needs while simultaneously providing excellent customer service.
• Online Sales Channel: customers will be able to book your products online, 24/7, directly from the inventory that you have made available through CenRes with all of the same comparison and packaging options – increasing your potential to make sales, even while you sleep.
• Help you be seen - our unique ability to package with any and all participating lodging and activity providers helps to educate potential visitors about your product. As a guest-centric system, we qualify the visitor’s needs, offer additional options and find the right fit to meet their idea of a perfect vacation experience.
• Only pay when it works - because our business model is built on referral commissions, you only pay for our services when they provide you with measurable results, meaning we only succeed when you do. We selected this model because, unlike other expensive travel sites, we want to become a vested partner in your success.

What Does it Cost?

• Annual listing fee: a small listing fee of $50 for activities and $75 for lodging properties covers all of the account set up, training and maintenance.
• Stand-Alone Reservations (i.e. a reservation that is booked without a package): 15% which includes all pre-collection costs so we take on all credit card fees and send you a check - typically 14 days prior to the guest’s arrival.
• Package Reservations (i.e. an itinerary with multiple itinerary items included): 20% which includes all pre-collection costs. In addition, we give the customer a 5% discount off the top from our commission to provide a cumulative discount in the package. (e.g. on a $100 product, the supplier nets $80 and the guest pays $95).
